Brady Welch
Brady is a Founding Partner of Slate Asset Management, which he co-founded in 2005. Slate Asset Management is a global investment and asset management firm focused on real assets, with a platform that spans real estate equity, real estate credit, infrastructure, and securities. Brady currently also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Slate Office REIT, Slate Asset Management’s publicly-listed investment vehicle focused on owning and operating high-quality workplace real estate.
Brady has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry in North America and Europe. Prior to Slate, Brady held senior management positions with Fortress Investment Group from 1998 to 2005, where he was responsible for asset management strategies, financing and originations for both direct real estate investments and real estate debt portfolios. Prior to Fortress, he managed Truscan’s (former real estate arm of Canada Trust) investments in Class A office towers in Canada’s five major urban markets. Brady began his career in the mid-1990s with Brazos Advisors (now Hudson Advisors & LoneStar Funds), participating in the acquisition and work-out of over $2 billion in distressed real estate loan pools from insurance companies and financial institutions.
Brady co-chairs Slate’s Investment Committee, together with Blair Welch, and is a member of Slate’s Management Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Slate Grocery REIT.
Brady holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University.
